A heart of gold stopped beating
Two shining eyes at rest
God broke my heart to prove
He only takes the best
God knows you had to leave me
But you did not go alone
For part of me went with you
The day he took you home
It is with great sadness that we must tell you that we had to say farewell this morning to our beloved Misty Blue.
She had been fighting a battle to remain here with us but in the end her body just simply wore out.
For those of you who weren't aware she was ill, she stopped eating on her own 3 weeks ago.
Two days prior to that, we took her to the internal specialist who diagnosed her with pancreatitis.
When her G/I profile lab work came back, it actually showed that her pancreas was fine but she was in renal failure.
She was hospitalized from February 5th through the 9th at which time she was essentially sent home to die.
As many of you know, I don't give up easily and with the help of her holistic veterinarians we tried to pull her through this unexpected development but in the end it just simply wasn't meant for her to remain here with us.
This morning found David and I driving one last time to her local veterinarian to help her cross over the Rainbow Bridge where she will most certainly be waiting with Little Guy (who passed away in December), Smokey and Spaz to join us one day in the future.
We stayed with her and I was kissing her and had my hand placed on her side as she took her last breath.
Afterwards, we drove her to Pet Angel to handle her earthly remains.
She will be coming home one last time either tomorrow or Friday where she will remain forever as a member of our family.
Rest easy our beloved blue-eyed girl and # 1 cheerleader of the agility girls.
You can run and play like a young pup again and not have to worry about aches or pains.
We love you dearly and you will be with us everyday in our lives, Misty Blue!!
Love,
Mom and Dad
