>DAWN'S SAVING GRACE CGC
  01/01/2010?
Halo was rescued from a kill shelter somewhere up north. She is an amazing little dog and I can't even imagine what circumstances could possibly lead to her ending up abandoned on death row. I'm so grateful to the rescue agency who saved her life. I fell in love with her over a video that her foster mom had posted. A friend took me to meet her, since it was local. Her foster mom threw the ball for her and she ran lickedy split to get it, but on her way back veered away and brought it over to me instead, putting it in my hand. That sealed the deal for me right there.

Halo is spayed, of course, and looks to be a very young Miniature Pinscher/Chihuahua mix. I've listed her birth date as Jan 1, 2010, putting her at just over a year old.

Halo is the first mixed breed dog I've had in probably 20 years. It's very rewarding to "give back" to the dog world and love a dog in need. I do not condone unethical or ignorant breeding practices and could lecture indefinitely about why it's not smart, moral or fair to breed whatever to whatever and give them to whoever. But this not the forum for that. This is Halo's tribute page, and she deserves it. Whatever is behind her, she is a sweet, smart, willing, well mannered dog. She is enrolled in AKC's Canine Partners Program. She is a Canine Good Citizen. She learns with lightening speed, is eager, willing, and fearless - full of personality. The perfect combination for a super star. We love HALO!

PEDIGREE:
There's no fancy, red pedigree to list here for Halo. No finished champion parents to credit. There's no breeder to thank and no health certs to list. I guess that means the brags are mine all mine! Thank you to the rescue agency who saved her life and brought her together with me.

I had a DNA breed panel run on her and the results were shocking. It says predominately Chinese Crested, West Highland Terrier and American Hairless Terrier (Rat Terrier). Also hit on were Swedish Vulhound, Golden Retreiver, Plot Hound and Cairn Terrier. What a riot. We are very skeptical of those results so they ran new swabs and pretty much got the same results, but they took away the Golden Retreiver and added Giant Schnauzer instead. HILARIOUS. Needless to say, I don't give much credence to the DNA breed panel tests now!
